R. Kelly pleads not guilty to additional sex charges

The Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Robert Sylvester Kelly pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of sexual abuse on a minor.

What We Know

  • In February, Kelly was charged with aggravated sexual abuse involving 4 victims, the last three were between the ages of 13 and 17, Hollywoodreporter.
  • Earlier this year Kelly became the most hated person as his documentary,“Surviving R. Kelly” premiered. Kelly was accused of sexual abuse on minors while “keeping them hostage” inside his home. These 4 women stated that Kelly ran a cult and that they were unable to talk and or look at others and used the restroom in a bucket in the conner of their rooms.
  • On Thursday, Judge Lawrence Flood informed Kelly of four new charges against him, causing Kelly to carry a maximum prison term of 30 years.
  • Kelly left the court room without speaking to reporters on the incident. His attorney Steve Greeneberg said, “I couldn’t figure out why the prosecutors brought new charges against Kelly. It’s the same case, they’ve just changed what they’ve charged him with. It’s the same facts, the same bond, the same evidence.”
  • Jerhonda Pace is one on Kelly’s accuser who came forward stating who she was to the public. She posted on her Facebook that she is “J.P.” and wrote,“no matter how wrong you think I am, the law is on my side, a minor at the time.”
