Yo Gotti has been ordered to pay $6.6M after he was paid to feature on a song, then refused to release it.
What We Know:
- TMZ obtained a judge’s order stating the rapper, whose real name is Mario Mims, was paid $20k to feature on a song with Young Fletcher in 2016. After collecting the check, he blocked the song from being released.
- Adding insult to injury, he is also accused of recording a track that sounds similar to the unreleased collaboration.
- On top of that, Yo Gotti also attempted to sign Young Fletcher to his label, without his manager’s knowledge.
- The rapper was served a lawsuit last year for his actions, but he never responded. On Tuesday, a North Carolina judge ruled against him on the matter.
- The judge initially ordered Yo Gotti to pay $2.2M. Later, the amount tripled due to the rapper’s “willful, unfair, and deceptive acts.”
- One of the rapper’s reps told Complex that they did not know anything about the matter.
This is just bad business.
