An outraged passenger in Denver, Colorado struck a Spirit Airlines employee after being told not to board a plane.
What We Know:
- In a video of the incident, the passenger and the employee can be heard bickering before things turn physical.
- The employee is heard saying, “I dare you to cross that line.” The passenger responds by asking another Spirit Airlines employee to step in saying, “he’s threatening me, talking about he is going to fight me.” The first employee interrupts and says, “No, I’m not threatening you. You touch me, I’m going to teach you a lesson.” The exchange continues and the employee tells the passenger that they will not board the plane.
- The employee tells his coworker, who is checking boarding passes, not to board the individual. The passenger attempt to push through the employees and board the plane anyway. The first employee steps in and grabs the passenger on the arm. The passenger then strikes the employee in the face and continues up the boarding ramp.
- The source of the video wrote that there was more to the story than what was captured on camera. They wrote in a tweet that the employee had “no customer service.”
The employee did make threatening comments towards the individual, but the physical violence was definitely avoidable. This whole exchange was very hostile.
