The breakout movie star Jason Mitchell dropped from the third season of the ‘The Chi’ and the upcoming Netflix film ‘Desperados’ due to harassment allegations.
What We Know:
- Since his role as deceased N.W.A rapper Easy E in Straight Outta Compton, Jason Mitchell has been in high demand in Hollywood. Since the debut 2015 film, Mitchell has been cast in the movies “Detroit,” “Mudbound,” and ‘Kong: Skull Island.” He recently has been playing a lead role as Brandon, a restaurant owner who finally gets on the right path, but could lose it all due to a personal tragedy.
- Since the arrise of the allegations, Mitchell has been dropped from season three of ‘The Chi,”Desperados,” and he is no longer represented by UTA or Authentic Talent and Literary Management. There have been no reports on what the allegations were or who made them.
- Deadline was the first to report on the allegations, and they said it was, “Allegations of inappropriate behavior.” Mitchell supposedly was involved in an incident off set of “Desperados.” Although it hasn’t been said what happened, apparently is was serious enough for him to be removed from all productions and agencies.
- This is not the first time he has been involved in a misconduct situation. During his time recording “The Chi,” Mitchell was under scrunch for an alleged inappropriate behavior situation involving a female cast member. Ultimately the issue was resolved. Also in 2016, he was under investigation after a woman publicly accused him of slamming her to the ground in a hotel room in Boston, Massachusetts.
Since his role in Straight Outta Compton, Mitchell has been a bright face in Hollywood, he has yet to comment on the allegations or his firing from both his productions and agencies. This story is still developing as new information could arise about the allegations.
