Steve Harvey Loses 2nd Gig with ‘Little Big Shots’

Steve Harvey, 62, will not be reprising his role as a host when the kids’ talent show returns to NBC for its fourth season.

What We Know:

  • Less than a week after news broke that Harvey daytime talk show was canceled, Harvey has lost another gig as he’s set to be replaced by actress/comedian Melissa McCarthy as the host of NBC’S “Little Big Shots.”
  • NBC’S co-chairman of entertainment Paul Telegdy said, “McCarthy will bring a completely fresh perspective to Little Big Shots.” But the decision to boot Harvey from Big Shots may have had less to do with “fresh perspective” and more to do with a feud between NBCUniversal and Endeavors IMG Original Content, the company that produces Harvey’s talk show.
  • Telegdy said, “McCarthy is an incredible performer and incredible comedian, She is a strong creative force with her own ideas. Changes will be apparent.”
  • NBC lost its ownership stakes in the talk show under the deal Harvey struck with IMG and was upset about that.
  • Harvey has been a regular feature on Little Big Shots for the past three seasons, but viewers will now have to get used to not seeing his face.

Harvey’s producers are working on getting another network to pick up the talk show.  For those who still want their daily dose of Harvey, there’s always Family Feud.
