Former President Barack Obama‘s highly anticipated memoir that, expected to be released this year, has been delayed until 2020…around the same time as the presidential campaign.

What We Know…

  • The Obamas, signed a book deal in 2017 with publishing company Penguin Random House for at least $60 million. According to the Associated Press, PRH has reached out to foreign partners about the status of the book.
  • With the new tentative release date, the book could make Obama the center of attention during the presidential campaign. Still, Obama has made it clear that he will not take any parts in the Democratic presidential primary and isn’t endorsing his former vice president, Joe Biden.
  • Obama already has three books under his belt but this will be his second memoir following his first one, “Dreams from My Father.” Both books where handwritten on legal pads, the same technique he used for his White House speeches. He expressed that writing it has given him a chance to reflect about his time in office.
