Kensington Palace released a statement announcing Meghan Markle gave birth to a baby boy at 5:26 a.m. on May 6, 2019.
What We Know:
- The Duchess was a week overdue when the boy finally arrived at 7 lbs 3 oz.
- The Duke and Duchess haven’t decided on a name for the child yet.
- The newborn is seventh in line to the British royal throne. Due to Meghan’s current status as an American citizen, the child will be offered dual citizenship from both Britain and the United States.
- The new father, Prince Harry, spoke to CBS about the birth saying, “It has been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine.”
- The couple is expected to announce more information about the child in the coming days.
