Update 5/3/19: Peabo Bryson is said to be rapidly recovering and doing well after his recent heart attack. His upcoming concert dates have been cancelled while he recovers. Our well wishes to him and we’re grateful for the good news!
On Saturday, April 27th, Peabo Bryson, 68, was taken to the hospital after having a mild attack heart attack in his Georgia home.
What We Know:
- As of Monday, April 29th, Bryson was still in hospital but is awake, responsive, and in stable condition.
- In an interview with Essence, Bryson’s rep advised that the “medical team and his family are optimistic he’ll make a speedy recovery.
- Bryson is a double Grammy winner. He won a Grammy in 1992 for the song Beauty and the Beast with Celine Dion and 1993 for A Whole New World with Regina Belle.
- He was scheduled to have a concert May 3 and 4 prior to the heart attack. There are no updates on whether these concerts have cancelled or postponed at this time.
According to Bryson’s rep, the family is asking for privacy through his recovery time. The family do appreciate and welcome thoughts and prayers from his fans.
