Beyoncé officially announced the #BeforeILetGoChallenge on Monday night by posting several clips of fans dancing to her rendition of the 1995 classic.
What We Know:
- The Houston native released “Homecoming,” a concert film about her groundbreaking 2018 Coachella performance that celebrated the black college experience, on April 17 via Netflix. To accompany the film, she surprise-released “Homecoming: The Live Album” which features the bonus track, “Before I Let Go.”
- Frankie Beverly and Maze originally released the classic soul song, “Before I Let Go”, in 1995. Since the release of this popular track, it has become one of the quintessential cookout songs. She contributes to preserving black culture by giving this song a fresh spin.
- Tay Keith produced the bonus track and jazzed it up with a Lousiana bounce element which makes the song even more dance-worthy.
- The viral hashtag features Beyhive members of all ages, uniting to flaunt their best moves to the four-minute long track.
- The 37-year-old artist rarely posts on her Instagram story, making the opportunity to be featured on her page even more special.
