Former Destiny’s Child Member, Michelle Williams has checked herself into mental health facility after allegedly battling depression.
Here’s what we know:
1. She announced she was seeking help on Instagram
The 37 year-old Bootylicious singer posted a photo on Instagram stating she will seek helps from a team of mental health professional.
2. Williams has opened up about depression in the past
In 2017, Williams opened up on “The Talk” about suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts while In Destiny’s Child and not getting the needed support.
“When I disclosed it to our manager [Mathew Knowles] at the time, bless his heart, he was like, ‘You all just signed a multi-million dollar deal. You’re about to go on tour. What do you have to be depressed about?’”
“So I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I’m just tired,’”
3. Williams got engaged to fiancé Pastor Chad Johnson in April 2018.
They met while Williams was “in a horrible dark place”
“When we met, both of us were in very similar places on a personal level,”
