Democrat Doug Jones Wins The Alabama Senate Spot Over Roy Moore

After months of controversy and national attention caused by Republican Roy Moore, the Alabama senate race concluded with a victory by Democrat Doug Jones.

It took 25 years for Alabama to nominate a Democrat to the senate, after Moore was a figure of controversy through his sex scandals and polarizing statements. With most of the votes in Jones lead by 50-48 percent, or 673,236 votes to 652,300 votes.

Moore has refused to concede and still thinks there’s a chance for him to win the position.

Alabama law requires a recount if the margin is 0.5%. with the current margin being 1.47 %. Moore was the favorite to be voted into the Alabama senate spot, after a history of controversy that included pedophilia and many controversial statements, voters decided on Jones instead.
