After months of controversy and national attention caused by Republican Roy Moore, the Alabama senate race concluded with a victory by Democrat Doug Jones.
It took 25 years for Alabama to nominate a Democrat to the senate, after Moore was a figure of controversy through his sex scandals and polarizing statements. With most of the votes in Jones lead by 50-48 percent, or 673,236 votes to 652,300 votes.
Moore has refused to concede and still thinks there’s a chance for him to win the position.
Raising the possibility of a recount, Roy Moore said that he would 'wait on God and let this process play out.' "It's not over." https://t.co/9a4yVpckDU pic.twitter.com/6aZTF7kcBm
